For the Record: Memories, Chords, and Rhymes

The last few months, I’d been working on a project. A record.  This record features a couple of songs I wrote. And the others are a few selections I thought told the story of my journey in music the best. 
 
For many years, I imagined the day I’d get to sit down with my guitar and make a record surrounded by the best session musicians.

 In reality, though, I sat down with my tenor guitar, microphone, and computer. And in a few days, I’d finished and I began playing it back. It didn’t seem real, but it was. I made a record and I was proud of it.

The songs that I selected as well as the ones I wrote, they are simple. Their purpose is to share a story.  One that is made of life’s memories and intertwined with melody . The best stories are the simple ones.

And, I hope this record is the first of many.
